Removal of a Artemis! Trojan

Postby Redfeennix » Wed Oct 14, 2009 7:17 pm

Greetings Folks,
First, I hope I have posted this to the correct Forum. I recently ran a scan using my McAfee SecurityCenter. After its completion, I was informed that it detected and quanrantined an Artemis! Trojan. This in itself is good; however, as the symptoms of this Trojan continue I am becoming quite frazzled as to what to do to be rid of it. Your assistance with this endeavor is greatly appreciated and I thank you aforehand.

Regards,
Charles

Ban that spawn of Satan to the burning pits of hell!
Shun the darkness! Shun it I say!

Use Avg and try to repair the file.

Thank you very much for your reply. Please tell me what "avg" is. I am guessing it is anti-virus something, yes ? And can you tell me where to find one. Thank you again.

I personaly use Kaspersky.
I have the compleate security suite which normally costs ~30 euros for free and compleatly leagal.
Just dl the trail and get the quarter year product key (which can be refreshed 4 times for free which gives you a year free in which time the new one is out and the prosses can be done all over again) from http://www.computerbild.de/cb-Special-Sicherheits-Center-2775286.html
they then send you the key via eMail.

How can you tell when you have completely gotten rid of a trojan or virus? I had a trojan or virus in my archives and had to practically fight for my life. And it seems that I have gotten rid of it but I don't want to take a chance.

Just google the trojan and try to find people who encountered this trojan and what they did to deal with it.
