Right well i managed to find an advanced 360 car movement engine on the internet. I've managed to work out how to use the object/extension and i'm finally getting somewere now, no clue how to make it slide right now but just started implementing understeer and brake steer but got a long way to go.

Looks much better then before though.

Did more work tonight, it's really starting to take shape. Managed to get the car to slide a little based on how high the bodyroll meters are, also got the weight distribution things sorted so it slides if you left off the power. If you go onto the grass it will also slow you down.

I'm working on making it alot more progressive now with the weight distribution based on a counter system. Heres what i have so far please take a look.

Ah now that's a hell of a lot better! Really glad you gave this a go, the whole thing is just so much smoother.

I see you still have the issue of the car snapping from one direction to another when you skid. But that's cool.

Yeh not sure what to do about that right now, the extension i used had a sliding section but it didnt even work so making that bit again from scratch. Yeah im glad i gave it a go and also glad there was an extension to make things abit easier.

The main thing about using the 360 movement is i feel like i can add alot more complex conditions and the speed is basically endless, i mean its going like 12 and it feels like warp speed lol.

Feel free to try and fix the sliding if you want, i will put up the editable file if ya want.

Still working on this but decided to pop kit in place of the mini-esque vehicle from before, i then thought why not add some KITT bits like SPM and Turbo Boost. Pretty chuffed with my KITT sprite actually.

Just done some work on this tonight, made sliding a little better aswell.
A few other bits i've done are

- breakable boxes
- crates to jump over
- ramp (work in progress)
- altered super pursuit so it doesn't go slidey for more of that film been sped up feel

I think you should work some more on the shading of KITT. I think you need to work more on the lightning as well, to give the car a glossy look. Google pixel car and you'll find lot's of images to use as inspiration.
One thing that looks really cool is changing the direction of the light for each direction.

Will you draw me a top down example? I dont have direction animations just one sprite and the angle is altered through 360 degrees so how would i be able to implement real time reflections? By the way do you like how it plays Albin?

Update

changed the track so it is a linear course instead. Added talking into the game aswell and made an actual obstacle to jump over instead of a red flat box. I'm going for a very stylised look for the characters, take a look guys.

To the characters? No im not but to the rest of the game I will be. I need to work on making the boxes look like boxes next. Doing it as a solo project is proving to be a pain but its getting there slowly.
