Publishing Your Site
Now that you have finished creating all three web pages, it is time to upload
them to your web space. As mentioned before you will need to know the file
transfer protocol (FTP) server name, your username and password.
We will be using Microsoft Internet Explorer to upload the files to your web space.
As mentioned on the first page, if you want to use Internet Explorer as your FTP
program, you must make sure the 'Enable folder view for FTP sites' option is
checked. To check this, go to 'Tools' - 'Internet Options...' and click on
the 'Advanced' tab. The option is in the 'Browsing' category:

Internet Options
Firstly open Internet Explorer and type in the FTP address in this format:
ftp://host.net
Change 'host.net' to the FTP server name of your hosting service. You
will be asked for your username and password. You can also specify your username
and password in the URL e.g.:
ftp://username:password@host.net
Now, open Windows Explorer and go to the folder containing your site's
files. Highlight the three '.htm' files as well as the 'pics'
folder. On the 'Edit' menu, choose 'Copy'. Switch back to Internet
Explorer and choose 'Paste' from the 'Edit' menu. Your files will begin
copying across to the remote site.

Viewing Files in Microsoft Internet Explorer FTP Mode
The FTP view in Internet Explorer acts almost the same as Windows Explorer.
That's all there is to it - your site is now ready to view in the browser.
If you need to make any changes to your pages, you can do this at any time.
It is best to keep an exact copy of your site on your computer, which will make
the pages easier to maintain. This is because all files are kept together
in the same way as if they were on the web server.

This tutorial shows only a very simple example of the type of website you can
create. Have a look at the other tutorials on
this site to learn more about HTML and creating websites.
